Once we hit the beach, we headed around past the human sundial to the other side of Stair Mountain.

Sure enough, as we rounded the backside, we found the memorial to all those "Sons of Nice" who had perished in defending France in World War 2. It was a moving emotional experience, especially since there weren't a bunch of punk skateboarders fucking around on the memorial and ruining my photographic opportunities, like the last time we'd visited Nice.

Spinning 180 degrees revealed the same marina we'd seen from the top of the hill (and, technically, on the walk around the hill), including the tiny little lighthouse at the end of the seawall. Spinning 7,460 degrees made us really dizzy and we had to sit down and rest for a while. After we recovered, we set out for the tip of the seawall.

Next to the marina was a parking lot. Actually, there were a lot of parking lots surrounding the marina on all sides. Except the sea-side, of course. Dur. Anyway, we saw the biggest car we had yet to have seen in France there, a Lamborghini SUV. It was thoroughly unattractive but worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. If you'd ever wondered what could be uglier than a Hummer H2, here was your answer.

Shortly after we took the photos of the Lamborghini, the driver showed up and drove away quickly, shouting obscenities at us over his shoulder. We had no idea what he was saying but we're pretty sure it had something to do with wanting copies of the pics if they turned out all right. I've already emailed them to bete@idiottetedemerdeimbecile.salabre.
